ABOUT

Benefit EAPL by joining us for a unique and restorative sound experience in the soothing vibrations of traditional hand-hammered Himalayan Singing Bowls and Gongs.  This ancient sound healing practice is a full body immersion that not only beautifully delights and calms the senses but is also rooted in the science of frequency medicine, biophysics, and quantum mechanics.

Intentionally using sounds, vibrations, frequencies, and tones invites powerful yet gentle therapeutic benefits such as stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system associated with reducing cortisol levels (stress) and aiding in healing, synchronizing heart-brain-body rhythms, regulating blood pressure and heart rate, soothing the nervous system, reducing fatigue, and increasing vitality.

This will be a very unique Sound Bath where not only are your ears enraptured in the sea of sound, but should you like to and not have any medical or physical conditions,* we will also place bowls on your chest/abdomen to allow the bowls to harmonically vibrate directly into your body, which is an incredible feeling that is hard to explain.

Evergreen native and EAPL dog and cat adopter, Seychelle Hicks will lead this Sound Bath. Seychelle is a sound practitioner who studied at the accredited Atma Buti Sound & Vibrational School, which uses a very intentional and gentle traditional approach to sound therapy.  Seychelle has lived and traveled extensively throughout Asia, and first fell in love with these magical Himalayan sounds when climbing and trekking through Nepal and India.  She has performed at venues such as the Denver Botanic Gardens with her mentor Suren Shrestha, the Evergreen Center for the Arts, and the Ananda Temple in Seattle, among others, and has also conducted therapeutic gatherings for horse and human emotional bonding and healing as well as wildlife and land ceremonies. Seychelle will be joined by Andrew Psaltis, her partner who is also trained in sound therapy, and others who will assist throughout. Seychelle and her family are honored to share this ancient sacred sound tradition and are forever grateful to EAPL for bringing their adopted dogs and cats into their lives.

What to Bring & Know Before

Props: You have the choice to lie down on the floor (most relaxing) or to sit in chairs. If you choose to lie down, please bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie down on the hardwood floor. Bring any other props to ensure you are comfortable like pillows, bolsters, blocks, eye masks, additional blankets/layers, etc. Please also bring a water bottle to hydrate afterwards.

Clothing: Please wear comfortable (non-bulky) clothing preferably without buttons or zippers. Should you like and be medically and physically capable,* we will place vibrating singing bowls directly onto your chest/abdomen area, so any metal/plastic on your top may cause the metal bowl to rattle.

Medical*: Ensure that you inform us at check-in of any of the following medical or physical conditions such as pregnancy, metal or electrical implants in the body like a pacemaker or diabetic pump, hearing aids, epilepsy, recent surgery or any other medical condition you think we should be aware of. These medical conditions will not preclude you from participating, however, we will make special accommodations for your comfort and safety.

Experience: This experience is perfect for anyone seeking a moment of tranquility, a respite to deeply relax, a boost in mental clarity, and a way to connect and to support our community and EAPL’s incredible cause. No experience is needed. Just come with an open mind and heart.
